The Unlimited Dusi Canoe Marathon 2012
The biggest canoe marathon in the world, The Unlimited Dusi Canoe Marathon, will be held in February 2012.
The three-day event takes place between Pietermaritzburg and Durban, starting at Natal canoe club at Camps Drift and finishing at Blue Lagoon in Durban.
Approximately 1800 paddlers are expected to enter the event which is a K2 (doubles). If The Unlimited Ozzie Gladwin canoe marathon which took place on Sunday is anything to go by, South Africa is in for a very exciting race in both the ladies and men’s sections.
“The Unlimited Dusi is obviously the biggest one on the calendar for us and each and every race between now and then is part of our build up” said Hank McGregor the incumbent world canoe marathon champion and winner of the Ozzie Gladwin.
